What good people oughtta hear:

$TQ is hard at work, setting up $uperstudios and penning your new favourite song “Born in Static”.  Trying to set up a Christmas love-in for all of us, more later.

I picked up the
Dwight Twilley ‘Band’ (there was only two of them on the 1st record) great-as-grace debut ‘Sincerely’ for $6 at Bluestreak Records in Peterborough (along with Todd Rundgren’s Nazz debut). Melodies and harmonies ring and wring and they are just-about-to-get laid, it would seem.  “I’m On Fire” is a power pop classic.  Magnet magazine has a dreamy cover story on the history of power pop this month – check it out.

And Magnet is the best magazine for rock and roll geeks.  It’s out of Philadelphia and hard to find on a shelf, but if you subscribe, they send you a sampler of stuff with every issue and a free CD with your yearly renewal.  My ‘free’ one this year is
The Bigger Lovers Honey in the Hive’ which is Big Star- nice and boys just wanna have fun (‘wanna’ and ‘gunna’ should definitely replace ‘want to’ and ‘going to’ - who says those and who wants to talk to them if they do?).

Popped out too with
Zumpano swan song ‘Going Through Changes’ from 1996 and Mink
Lungs
’ ‘The Better Button’ from 2001, both real good, though the psychedelic goofiness at times on ‘Lungs could be curtailed a bit.

It’s kinda funny, but
Sub Pop is actually responsible for 4 of the finest things of the last ten years and none of them are of the grunge they are famous for – Zumpano, Spinanes,
Scud Mountain Boys
and now, Arlo!

Winona makes such a cute felon! She’s obviously innocent – look into her eyes.
She’s the undisputed starfucker champion – maybe the most talented rock and roll groupie of all time, think about it.  She should get off and be in the new $TQ video…

Out,
$TQ

Ps – the spell check suggestion for ‘starfucker’ was ‘trafficker’
